Meet the Staff
Rachael, Office Manager
Rachael joined the Burke Veterinary Clinic team in December 2004. She and her husband have adopted 2 cats and a dog since starting at BVC. She recently became a first-time mother and is enjoying that role. In her "spare" time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and that occasional nap!
Julie
Julie started working at the clinic in September of 2007. She is married and has a cat named Missy and two dogs - Harley, a Boxer, and Scrappy, a Puggle. When not working she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and going on long walks with her dogs.
Esther
Esther started at Burke Veterinary Clinic in July, 2008. She enjoys spending time with her husband, cat, and dog. She went to school for fine arts, but is thinking of going back to study conservation. In the future, she would like to start her own animal rescue.
BK
BK is a student at George Mason University. He likes long walks on the beach and romantic movies. Just kidding. He is an outgoing kid who likes to work and be active. He loves music and doing community service. He is basically a fun kid.
Alison
Alison has a B.S. in Business Management and an A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology. For the past 10 years she has worked in small animal practice, including shelter and emergency medicine. In her free time Alison enjoys running with her dog and relaxing with her cats.
Emilie
Emilie joined the BVC family in June of 2009. She is the mother of 3 children and has two dogs. She enjoys swimming in her spare time.
John
John is a part-time employee and part-time student at NVCC where he is working toward a degree in Biology. He has been with the clinic since September of 2008, and has plenty of experience working with animals from the National Zoo and at home with his chocolate lab, Murphy.
Terry
Terry was a full-time mom until this past April when she joined the Burke Veterinary Clinic team. She had previously worked at a veterinary clinic in Alabama and enjoyed the work so much she chose to continue her career in this field. Terry is the mother of a 9-year-old son and has two dogs at home.
Heather
Heather moved to the area six years ago from Detroit with a B.S. in Zoology from Michigan State University. In her free time she enjoys powerlifting, watching sports, and paying video games. She lives in DC with her wife and cat - Hail Storms of Fury. Heather is looking forward to becoming an LVT.
Vanessa
Vanessa has been working on and off at Burke Veterinary Clinic since 2006. She has always had a love for animals; in fact as a child she dreamed of growing up to be a vet. Now she is enrolled part time at NVCC and exploring other vocations, including nursing. In her free time she is busy baby sitting, pet sitting, volunteering at her church, and enjoying her family.
Grace
Grace has lived in the Burke/Springfield area her whole life and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology at GMU. She has been a member of our team since high school and has been bringing her sheltie mix Hendrix for years. Grace enjoys and values working with the animals as she pursues her degree.
Bethany
Bethany recently moved to the area with her husband, two dogs, and two cats from Michigan. She earned a B.A. in Supply Chain Management and an M.B.A. from Wayne State University in Detroit. Due to her love for animals, Bethany decided to change her career path and pursue the field of veterinary medicine. She is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at NVCC. In her spare time she enjoys long walks with her dogs, traveling, yoga, and spending time with her family and friends.
